Information about the RPW electrical antennas deployment operation during the LEOP.

General

Purpose & Objectives

Prepare the RPW electrical antennas (ANT) deployement (x3) RPW-related operations during the LEOP.

Working Group Members

RPW sub-system teams will also contribute to define the RPW modes to be set during the deployement.

Operation preparation

Context & assumptions

RPW will be switched-off during the LEOP, except during the Boom and ANT deployments operations.

The SSMM will be available during these operations.

The ANT deployement will be performed one by one, starting with the PZ (ANT1), then PY (ANT2), finally MY (ANT3). The deployment of the ANT1 will start at T1=TBD, the deployment of the ANT2 at T2=TBD, and the deployement of the ANT3 at T3=TBD.

The details of the deployment is given in the RPW Antenna User Manual.

The ROC and CNES are in charge of preparing the sequence of TCs relative to the instrument modes, to be operated during the deployements. The sequence of TCs that will drive the deployements them-selves will be delivered by the RPW antenna team.

Overall timeline

At SOLO level

The following operations will be then performed at the platform level.

TBD

At RPW level

The overall timeline of the ANT deployement is not fully known. Here is a first draft of what it is required from the RPW team.

The table gives the timeline for the first ANT deployement, assuming that the RPW configs. will be the same for the 3 ANTs.

  • This config shall include 3 to 5 minutes of "Galaxy mode" for THR
