This page gives information about the RPW Flight Procedures (RFP)

About the RPW Flight Procedures

According to the FOP, the flight procedures are divided into three categories: the Flight Control Procedures (FCP), the Contingency Recovery Procedures (CRP) and the Commissioning Procedures (COM).

The RPW procedures files are archived in the /Procedures folder of the https://gitlab.obspm.fr/ROC/OpsLib gitlab repository (restricted access). A test version of this repository is available in https://gitlab.obspm.fr/ROC/OpsLib-Test (restricted access).

For a list of the corresponding RPW Operating Configurations (RPWCons), see RPW Operating Configurations.

For each of these categories, a table lists the following information:

  • Name of the procedure
  • Description
  • Configuration at start
  • Configuration at end
  • Author(s)
  • Creation date
  • Current status (possible values are "To be done", "In progress", "Done", "GSE validated", "Added to FOP")
  • Any additional comments is given below. Note that the procedure file naming and format must comply the convention in SOL-ESC-IF-10002. It means that the file must be a Excel format file (.xls) with the procedure name as a file name.

Editing a procedure

The SOC provides to the instrument teams an online "Procedure Builder" than can be used to create/edit procedures. The site dedicated to RPW is available here. Nevertheless, the SOC cannot guarantee that this tool will be maintained during the whole mission, and the instrument teams are invited to develop and maintain their own tool. In the case of the ROC, the FIGARO tool, accessible via the MUSIC Web portal will replace at medium term the SOC procedure builder.

IMPORTANT

Please visit the operation guidelines page before editing a procedure!

Flight Control Procedures (FCP)

The table below gives the list of generic procedures, other than specific to the contingency recovery or commissioning operations (see next sections).

The columns are:

  • Name – Name of the procedure (according to the ESA convention)
  • Description - Short description of the procedure (to be reported into the info sheet of the Excel export)
  • Configuration at start – Initial RPWcon
  • Configuration at end – Final RPWcon
  • Author(s) – Entity that creates the procedure
  • Total duration – Total duration of the procedure in seconds (including the minimal time delay to be let after the last TC execution)
  • Minimal time delay at the end - Minimal time delay in seconds to be let at the end of the procedure execution (i.e., to be let after the last TC execution)
  • Status – Status of the procedure writing (i.e., "Done", "In Progress", "To Be Done", "Validated", "To Be replaced")
