Page about the RPW low rate configuration.
Description
The low-rate configuration is designed to perform optimal science data acquisition with a very degraded telemetry rate allocation.
Assumption
The current rate constraint is fixed to 2.4 kbps (i.e., 40% of RPW EIDA rate) of data over a day, which corresponds to the to period in the Feb. 2020 launch scenario.
Possible instrument states
Description of the instrument states available for this configuration (in progress).
Associated scenarios
Two scenarios of "low rate" configurations are envisaged currently.
Config low rate scenario 1 | Bit rate (uncompressed) Kbits/s | Bit rate (compressed) Kbits/s | |
---|---|---|---|
Duration of burst Mode (min per day) | 8 | 3,26 | 2,40 |
Time between 2 snapshots LFR&TDS (s) | no snapshot | ||
Measurement time LFR Basic Parameter (s) | 120 | ||
Compression rate | 2 |
Config low rate scenario 2 | Bit rate (uncompressed) Kbits/s | Bit rate (compressed) Kbits/s | |
---|---|---|---|
Duration of burst Mode (min per day) | 0 | 3,30 | 2,40 |
Time between 2 snapshots LFR&TDS (s) | 3600 | ||
Measurement time LFR Basic Parameter (s) | 120 | ||
Compression rate | 2 |
